Like the UK campaign, Zerozerocinque is supported by a growing group of international development, green and faith organisations plus trade unions and media outlets. 130 Italian economists have signed up in support of a financial transaction tax.

The campaign also supports a FTT to raise money to help the poorest at home and abroad, and tacke climate change. The campaign is working towards a global FTT but supports one at a European level.

The Italian Government described FTT as a noble idea but not possible unless implemented globally. In October 201 a cross-party group of MPs put forwards a bill supporting the campaigns asks, but with the additional requirement of the backing of at least 6 EU countries. So all to play for in 2011.
